How does the insurance work?

For vehicles registered in the UK, we have a partnership with Allianz and provide a comprehensive insurance policy for all your rentals.

Our policy has been thought out to be specially designed for hires between individuals to make hires secure and straight forward.

Allianz insurance takes over your personal insurance as your vehicle becomes a part of our fleet for the duration of the hire. This means there is no risk of having double insurance at any time. The rental contract signed between you and the renter will be proof that your vehicle is currently on hire with Yescapa. 

The renter is the person paying for this insurance, and this is automatically added on to your price when a renter sends you a booking request, as long as you comply with the three following conditions:

• You are not a rental business
• The vehicle is registered in the UK
• The weight of the vehicle is less than 3.5T

The renter must also comply with the following conditions beforehand (please refer to the full list of exclusions on the Allianz policy details page) to have access to the policy:

• must be at least 25 years old
• have had their driving licence fro the past two years
• not be a student
• Have submitted a valid DVLA check

If these conditions are not met, you will be notified via email.
