How do I declare my rental income to tax? Tax and DAC7

General information on DAC7:
DAC7 (or Digital Administrative Cooperation), is a European Union regulation aimed at strengthening tax cooperation in the digital field. The DAC7 requires our platform to collect and share tax information with the competent authorities.

Who is affected?

All online rental platforms, including ours, fall within the scope of the DAC7. Individual users who rent their vehicles on our platform must also comply with the requirements for sharing tax information.

Data Transmitted Pursuant to DAC7:

Under DAC7, our platform is required to collect specific tax data from our users. This includes information necessary to ensure tax transparency, such as the income generated by the rental of your vehicle(s). This data will be shared securely with the relevant tax authorities in accordance with DAC7 requirements.

DAC7 and tax:

Our platform is only obliged to pass on the income generated. It is up to each user to declare the income according to their situation (see the second part of this article).

How do I declare my income?
Whether you are a private individual or a professional, if you are taxable in France, the additional income from property rental

goods must be declared from the first euro.

Annual income from leasing your vehicle is automatically declared to the tax authorities and belongs to just one member of the household: the owner of the vehicle shown on the registration document.

How do you declare them?

There are several scenarios, depending on the size of your income:

If your total income for the year is less than €72,600:

The amount should be entered on declaration no. 2042 C pro (line 5NP or 5BP).

You will only be taxed on 50% of the income received, thanks to an automatic deduction for expenses of at least €305.

If your annual income exceeds €72,600:

The amount will have to be entered on declaration no. 2031-SD.

The "real" system then becomes compulsory. In this case, you will be able to deduct all your expenses relating to the hire of your vehicle.
